We are seeking a Lab Technican to join our Resins Production Plant in Appleton, WI.

During your shift as a Lab Technician, you will

. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Actively supporting and promoting a safe working environment, participating in all safety trainings and programs, and supporting Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security plant initiatives.
  2. Quality assurance testing of intermediates and finished products within the scope of the BASF Quality Policy and ISO 9001 Quality Management System which includes testing using a variety of testing equipment including FTIR, Viscometers, Ovens, balances, pH meters.
  3. Using appropriate software to evaluate data based on internal and external specifications, procedure requirements, as well as entering QC data into SAP software.
  4. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized working environment in accordance with BASF Chemical Hygiene and Laboratory Safety standards
  5. Ensuring that all laboratory instruments are properly calibrated, verified, and maintained in accordance with site‑approved calibration standards, global quality requirements, and equipment‑specific procedures
  6. Supporting the continuous improvement of lab and plant processes through QA/QC activities, instrument troubleshooting and maintenance, and meeting/exceeding customer expectations.
  7. Working 8 hour shifts, Monday through Friday and supporting overtime as needed

Formula for Success ...

Basic Qualifications

  • 2-year associates degree or technical degree in Chemistry/Analytical testing or related field and lab experience OR High School diploma with 2 years of lab experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products; Word, PowerPoint, Excel and ability to operate various computer-controlled instruments.
  • Knowledge of testing equipment found in laboratory setting; FTIR, Viscometers, etc.
  • Well-developed analytical methodology, insight into problem solving, and ability to record and report pertinent data.
  • Knowledge of SPC
  • On occasion, must be able to lift up to a maximum of 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to follow both written procedures, verbal instructions and follow all applicable safety procedures including correct personal protective equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of theory, operation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation such as viscometers, pH meters, moisture solids analyzers, etc.
  • Basic understanding of ISO/RCMS quality system requirements
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • The preferred candidate will have minimum 2+ years’ experience in a lab position of increasing responsibility
