We are looking for a Senior Technology Specialist to join our EO/Fuel Additives Production & Asset Management team in Geismar, Louisiana. In this role, you will serve as the site’s senior technical authority for Ethylene Oxide (EO) process technology and key Fuel Additives technology interfaces. You will enable safe, compliant, reliable, and cost effective operations by leading complex technical problem solving, technology stewardship, and capability building across the EO/Fuel Additives organization. As a Senior Technology Specialist, you create chemistry by...
- Acting as the senior technical steward for EO process technology, ensuring safe and optimized operation across normal operations, startups, shutdowns, and upset conditions.
- Serving as the primary escalation point for complex process troubleshooting that impacts safe and reliable operations.
- Leading technology stewardship activities, including operating envelopes, process limits, key process indicators, catalyst performance monitoring (as applicable), and identification of emerging technology risks.
- Providing technical leadership for Process Safety Management deliverables such as PHAs/LOPAs, MOCs, incident investigations, operating procedures, and safe operating limit validation.
- Supporting the EO capital project portfolio through scope development, design reviews, operability assessments, commissioning, and startup support.
- Leading or supporting root cause analyses for significant process events, quality upsets, reliability losses, and near misses, driving effective corrective actions.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield and selectivity, energy efficiency, waste reduction, debottlenecking, and reduced unplanned downtime.
- Building technical capability across the site by mentoring engineers, production specialists, and operations teams through coaching and structured knowledge transfer.
If you...
- Have 20+ years of experience in Ethylene Oxide manufacturing with expert level knowledge of EO technology and plant operations. level
- Bring deep experience in troubleshooting complex process upsets and translating learnings into sustainable improvements.
- Have a strong working knowledge of Process Safety Management and Risk Management Programs.
- Have experience supporting capital projects, including involvement in design reviews, commissioning, and startup support.
- Are able to influence across Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and Projects through technical credibility and collaboration.
- Hold an Associate’s degree in a technical field (preferred), or equivalent applicable experience.
