Are you looking at using your knowledge and experience to help develop and maintain automated test fixture to support design and build instrumentation for scientists of tomorrow?
The Test Development Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. The incumbent also prepares test and diagnostic plans/programs and infrastructure, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products. He/she also plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. The incumbent can look forward to gaining new knowledge of automated test equipment design as well as enhancing their technical competency in engineering fields.
This position is part of the Manufacturing Engineering department and will be located in Marsiling, Singapore.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop new in process functional tests to aid in debug and diagnosis of various functional modules within a MS/LC/CE instrument. Developed solutions will be used to perform fault isolation for faulty or intermittent modules.
- Learn and understand test requirements and test methodologies for various functional modules. Develop test code using Labview, CVI or TestStand for Value Engineering projects to characterize, verify and validate the design.
- Ensure PCBA module testability through development, qualification and release to manufacturing for VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering) projects.
- Review failure data, improve coverage through fixture upgrade or redesign/Review First Pass Yield data from suppliers, analyze ‘no fault found’ modules and perform root cause analysis to upgrade tests
- Test software and hardware development to improve PCBA test coverage.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering/Computer Engineering with 12 years of relevant experience
- Good track record of successful test program or firmware development using Labview and TestStand
- Hands-on test lab experience configuring lab equipment for testing.
- Experience in design collaboration with suppliers
- Familiar with statistical tools for problem solving
Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to have night calls with North America for 12 time per week
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment load of up to 10kg daily
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- PCBA contract manufacturing industry
