The New Product Global Ops (NPGO) Manufacturing Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for determining the optimal manufacturing methods and processes for producing company products from development, start-up, building the product line, through satisfactory production.
This position is part of the hardware manufacturing engineering team located in Chaska, MN and will be an on-site role. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the NPI Hardware Team and report to the NPGO Hardware Manager. You will participate on New Product Development teams in leadership and support roles to develop and launch high volume medical diagnostic devices. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Influence new design development to incorporate methods/fixtures within manufacturing process to improve manufacturability, improve assembly, meet cost goals, and ensure on-time delivery of products.
- Solve technical issues by identifying root cause(s) and appropriate short-term and long-term countermeasures.
- Set up new product production lines to build prototypes and then final launched products
- Coordinate cross-functionally with planning, development engineering, purchasing, supplier quality, regulatory, logistics, packaging, and operations to ensure design maturation results in products easy to source, build, test, ship and service.
- Ensure compliance to company, industry, and regulatory standards.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 2+ years of related experience OR a Master’s Degree in Engineering
- Experience with design change processes (ECOs/DCOs) with the ability to communicate design intent, risks, risk mitigations, and impact through dFMEAs/pFMEAs
- Experience supporting technical projects in development and manufacturing
- Experience with structured problem solving and critical thinking
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- New product design and development, Manufacturing test methods and controls
- Statistically savvy – Design for Manufacturing/Assembly, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, and/or use of JMP or Minitab
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
