Scientific Marketing Specialist, Microbiology, Europe

You will be working with the Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, Microbiology leadership on developing and implementing scientific marketing strategy, with focus on creating marketing content and marketing tools to establish Beckman Coulter Microbiology as a thought leader in the microbiology field.
You will be working closely with the cross-functional, global team, including Product Management, Commercial Marketing, Communications and Scientific Affairs.
This position reports to the Senior Commercial Marketing Manager, Europe and is part of the European Sales and Marketing team. The role is remote, based in the UK.
The role might involve occasional travels (up to 15%) both within the UK and overseas.
The Scientific Marketing Specialist Role will focus on:
Scientific Affairs liaison:
- Liaise with the Scientific Affairs Microbiology on setting studies priorities for Europe
- Provide project management support to the clinical studies sites (customers)
Content creation and social media management:
- Create scientific content to support the development of collateral marketing material for Europe
- Develop content and plan for email and social channels campaigns
- Maintain relationships with external design and translation agencies
- Work closely with the marketing automation team on designing mailing campaigns
- Plan and execution of digital and face to face events such as webinars, conferences.
The Person:
This role will have a high degree of independence and would suit best an independent and proactive person. Ideally, we are looking for someone creative and eager to develop and implement Beckman Coulter Microbiology social media strategy and presence with the strong focus on scientific message.
Beckman Coulter operates in a highly regulated environment and applies strict compliance rules to the marketing activities, therefore the person in this role must be willing to recognize and observe these rules.
Ideally the person would have had some prior exposure to the MedTech sector regulations and Code of Conduct.
The essential criteria for the role are:
- A first or 2.1 bachelor’s degree in a biological sciences subject. Ideally, master’s degree in Microbiology, Infectious Diseases or Biology or related disciplines.
- Passion for scientific writing and science communication.
- An interest in social media and Marketing.
- Knowledge of LinkedIn channels and groups.
- Independent and proactive.
- High levels of personal integrity.
- Fluent English speaker.
The desirable criteria for the role are:
- Knowledge and passion for graphic design.
- Experience in Marketing and Communication
- Knowledge of one or more of the following languages would be a distinctive plus: German, French, Italian, Spanish
