Cytiva is looking for a Principal Project Manager to coordinate and execute system-level projects within the Downstream R&D Hardware and Consumable portfolio. As Principal Project Manager at Cytiva, you assume full project life cycle ownership for one or several cross-functional projects ranging from technology development, new product development, program line extensions, cost out or product care type aiming to deliver and support solutions for the Bioprocess market. In this role, you will coordinate the system development in close collaboration with both the core team and sub-project managers from various parts of our business (e.g. hardware, single-use, software and system), act a point of contact for extended project teams as well as product management and other internal stakeholders globally. Additionally, you will play a key role in driving changes to improve efficiency in the NPI development work.

The position is based in Uppsala and will be an onsite position, reporting directly to the Portfolio Director for Downstream R&D.

What you will do:

  • Full project life cycle ownership for one or several cross-functional projects according to the established development model and local instructions.
  • Define and plan the project involving all functions that are stakeholders of the project.
  • Maintain active dialogue with e.g. business area representatives, to ensure project deliveries are aligned with developing market needs.
  • Drive and facilitate project work ensuring necessary decisions to reach company goals are made and effected.
  • Manage deviations, quality objectives, regulatory requirements, schedules, and program risks and make decisions based on business objectives.
  • Monitor project progress and cost development and in collaboration with portfolio manager work out opportunities to deliver according to set scope and within set time and budget frames.
  • Drive, adapt and implement improved methodologies/ways of working for project management within the agreed organizational framework.
  • Establish and drive the achievement of Project KPIs through the adoption of Danaher Business Systems tools (Visual Project Management, Daily Management, Problem Solving Process etc.) and Global Ops PMO Standard Work/Methodology.
  • Act as facilitator or certified practitioner for a DBS tool/process relevant for project management.
  • Act as subject matter expert in the field of project management and mentor for junior project managers when needed.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Proven track-record of successful technical or system project deliveries.

  • Experience of working in a lean and agile development framework.
  • Extensive experience in relevant technical or system product development.
  • Several years of relevant industrial experience, including position(s) as project manager, program manager, or equivalent.
  • Fluency in both Swedish and English is required.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience managing technical development projects in regulated industries—such as biotechnology, biopharma, or medical devices.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other project managers.

The ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker with a strong technical foundation and a passion for delivering impactful system solutions in the life sciences domain. They thrive in dynamic, cross-functional environments and are comfortable navigating ambiguity while driving clarity and results. A proactive mindset, combined with a collaborative spirit, will be key to success in this role.
