The Director, Danaher Business Systems Leader (DBSL), America Operations is a key member of the Beckman Coulter Diagnostics America Manufacturing Leadership team (L3). This individual contributor role is responsible for driving Danaher Business System (DBS) capability and continuous improvement for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics American Operations with a strong focus on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. The role requires deep technical expertise, influential leadership, and a strategic mindset to support innovation, growth, and operational excellence across manufacturing sites, particularly in the consumables business.
The Director, DBSL will develop both long- and short-term DBS strategies to support the growth of our business through implementation processes and tools associated with Strategic Innovation Review, Product Planning Group, Strategic Commercial Review, Launch Excellence, Policy Deployment, individual new product development programs and driving accountability and sustainability of Lean Manufacturing processes and will be onsite in Chaska, Minnesota.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead the implementation and sustainment of Danaher Innovation, Growth, and Lean Playbooks across America Operations, assessing organizational capabilities and driving maturity.
- Develop and execute a DBS Road Map and Action Plan to build competitive advantages and enhance engagement and awareness across the organization.
- Drive process characterization and optimization using Design of Experiments (DOE), SIPOC, and FMEA to improve chemical and biological manufacturing processes.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the America Operations Leadership Team to align DBS strategies with business goals and ensure continuous improvement.
- Act as a Chief of Staff to the VP of America Operations, managing Kaizen funnels, execution, and sustainment across multiple sites.
- Provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching, facilitating sessions to build internal capabilities in Lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Benchmark internally and externally to identify and integrate best practices into DBS processes, ensuring continuous evolution and excellence.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Scientific field with 15+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 12+ years in Operations/Manufacturing/Supply Chain.
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt required; Master Black Belt preferred, with demonstrated expertise in DMAIC and DFSS methodologies.
- Strong experience in immunoassay development and production, with a focus on chemical and biological process improvement.
- Proven ability to lead through influence in a highly tenured and matrixed organization, inspiring change and driving adoption of advanced DBS tools.
- Willingness to travel up to 35% domestically and work onsite in Chaska, MN.
The salary range for this role is $200,000 - $235,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
