The Senior Global Support Engineer, Digital Pathology, for Leica Biosystems is a key individual contributor within the Global Support team, responsible for providing advanced technical support, training, and product expertise for Leica Biosystems’ Digital Pathology portfolio. This role requires developing deep technical knowledge and being capable of independent problem-solving, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and product excellence.

This position reports to the Director, Global Support & Training, and is part of the Digital Pathology Business Unit located in Shanghai and will be onsite.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for Digital Pathology products, including software and hardware platforms such as Aperio GT Platform scanners, Aperio FL, Aperio HALO, and others.
  • Provide 3rd tier support, handling and resolving BU Escalation Cases in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the product development process as a primary core team member and swim lane owner for service and support readiness.
  • Potentially support SU FSEs onsite in support of customers, in-country (or, rarely, internationally).
  • Participate in DBS (Danaher Business System) events such as Kaizens and PSPs to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or 5+ years equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience technical support, field service, hardware or software engineering, or similar fields, preferably in the medical device or life sciences industry.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and software configuration.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to diverse audiences, including in professional English, written and spoken.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex technical issues with minimal supervision.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel 20% domestically (or, less often, internationally, such as to Vista, CA)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with regulated environments (ISO 13485, GMP, GCP, GLP).
  • Experience supporting or training on digital pathology or imaging systems.
