The Supervisor of Instrument Manufacturing leads daily operations for a high-impact product line, drives performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity (SQDIP) metrics. Success in this role hinges on your ability to implement disciplined Daily Management practices using DBS tools such as DMP, Standard Work, 5S, PSP, and QSB. You’ll be at the forefront of building strong, agile teams and developing talent to meet evolving business needs. This is a hands-on leadership role that emphasizes continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This position reports to the Production Manager and is part of the Diagnostic and Life Science departments located at the Kendall facility in Miami, Florida, and will be on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Ensure safe processes and sustain proactive hazard identification programs.

  • Prioritize production schedules based on product launches, equipment efficiency, and material availability.
  • Mentor and develop hourly associates while maintaining a flexible workforce of regular and temporary employees.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to implement both containment and root cause countermeasures.
  • Drive external quality levels above 95% First Pass Yield (FPY) by owning area quality through QSB tools, documentation, follow-up, and scrap reduction.
  • Maintain procedures in compliance with ISO standards and regulated environments.
  • Champion Kaizen initiatives, promote one-piece flow manufacturing, and lead efforts to improve lead time and reduce manufacturing costs.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 8+ years of experience with a High School Diploma, or 5+ years with a Bachelor's Degree, or 3+ years with a Master's Degree.
  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated production environment following GMP standards.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement experience, i.e., DBS Tool Certification or leading multiple Kaizen events.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, with knowledge of conducting incident investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with advanced skills in Excel.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Managing teams-ideally with 2 + years of direct people management experience
  • Change management- leading through system upgrades, process designs, or organizational shifts
  • Proven ability to lead or guide teams to deliver high-impact outcomes.
