As a Lead Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementation of Cepheid next generation software products.

This position is part of the R&D Department and will be in Bangalore, IDC, India. Our vision is to continuously drive innovation and efficiency in our development processes, leveraging the latest in software and hardware technologies to meet the needs of our global customers.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and maintain molecular diagnostics software applications using Java and Angular frameworks in compliance with regulated software development standards
  • Implement automated unit, component, and system-level tests using industry-standard tools to ensure end-to-end software quality
  • Execute Agile lean software development practices to deliver project milestones, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness
  • Conduct formal design reviews and generate detailed technical documentation for software implementations in accordance with FDA and ISO 13485 guidelines
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, software quality, and technical support teams to validate feature design and integration across diagnostic system components

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Minimum 6 years of full stack software product development experience using Java, including embedded, application, and cloud technologies, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
  • Proficiency in Java and Object-Oriented Design with applied use of design patterns in commercial software development
  • Front-end development experience using Angular 2 or higher in production environments
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and verifying software for medical instruments or regulated industries such as FDA, ISO, or CLIA
  • Hands-on experience leading implementation of user stories and troubleshooting within Agile development frameworks

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • As an AWS certified developer
  • A background in leveraging AI to improve operational performance.
  • Experience working with distributed teams in a global setting.
