The Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager - EMEA is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, performing in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making all while ensuring compliance in the Sciex EMEA countries. The chosen candidate will lead and mentor a team of professional accountants.
This position reports to the Senior Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager and is part of the Finance Shared Services Center team located in Mumbai. This will be an on-site role with flexibility for high-demand month-end closing cycles.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Mentor, engage, and develop a team of accounting professionals through training and coaching on soft-skills, financial reporting standards, and analytical tools.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports ensuring compliance with US GAAP , SOX and company policies.
- Oversee all month-end closing activities, ensuring proper documentation and compliance, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Conduct variance analysis between actual and forecasted results, providing actionable insights to management. Including generating KPIs and financial metrics to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of documents and schedules for internal or external auditors as well as respond to queries and provide necessary supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with other teams (e.g., within finance and other departments) to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and reduce close cycle time including automation initiatives for financial processes.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Master’s degree in accounting or finance-related field, with Chartered Accountant qualification (or similar).
- 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a Shared Services environment in EMEA countries, including 3+ years managing direct reports.
- Strong communication and leadership skills – English is essential, other languages are a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong skills with business tools, such as Excel, PowerBI and ERP systems as well as an analytical mindset with attention to detail.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Lean Six-Sigma
- Project management experience or certifications
