The Senior Electro‑Optical Engineer is responsible for developing, updating and maintaining electronic parts and key sub-systems at Instrument level for Life Cycle Management (LCM) and New Product Development (NPD) in advanced Medical Devices through industry-leading Engineering and OEM partners. You will play a central role in generating, testing and documenting key knowledge of our electro-optical systems in collaboration with specialized internal stakeholders, and industry leading partners, to support Radiometer’s product portfolio of Acute Care Medical Devices.

This position reports to the R&D Senior Manager, and is part of the Hardware LCM and NPD, Instrument and Sensor Integration Department located in Brønshøj, Copenhagen and will be an Onsite role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Plan and drive electro-optical design and development activities at Instrument level of parts and sub-assemblies
  • Drive updates of hardware architecture, component selection, product integration and ensure clear and structured documentation of electro-optical designs.
  • Define test strategies, develop and optimize test procedures in collaboration with external partners.
  • Support troubleshooting/root cause analysis in complex HW/SW systems.
  • Drive compliance, product quality and reliability, through documentation, change control and transfer to manufacturing.
  • Continuously improve processes, utilizing our recognized Danaher Business System for efficient and superior quality, LCM and NPD.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • A Master’s Degree in Electro-Optical Engineering or similar professional discipline.
  • Strong experience in hardware development, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in, and handling design documentation in, Medical Devices industry or other comparable regulated industry (e.g. Aerospace).
  • Proficient in English, excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management abilities as well as effective communication and presentation skills

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel some travelling to suppliers or Radiometer sites can be expected.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Principles of Dfx (DFR, DFMA and DFS), FMEA, Modeling, Simulation, and Technical Reviews.
  • Working with complex systems involving electrical, optical, mechanical, and software components.
  • Data analytics.
  • Optics, fluidics, thermal control, ultrasonics, electroacoustic resonance, and mechanical integration in diagnostic platforms and understanding of blood spectrometry.
  • Requirement engineering.
