The Scientist I- Global NPI Ops is responsible for Leading and executing design transfer activities(New product introduction) that align with the business goals and objectives; interfacing and collaborating with cross functional teams and diverse groups (internal and external customers) to execute the project deliverables, independently handle the process or technology transfer and validations, utilize critical thinking and technical subject matter expertise to solve complex problems and trouble shoot, able to independently manage the priorities with minimal guidance, utilize risk assessments to mitigate the risks and implement countermeasures, effectively communicate with teams, customers, stakeholders, and leadership on project status, progress, risks and countermeasures, utilizing data driven approach to negotiate and alignment with multiple stakeholders in problem solving, go-to Gemba mindset.
This position reports to the Team Lead NPI OPs and is part of the Global NPI department located in Beckman Coulter Life Science, Bangalore Development Center (BDC) manufacturing facility located in Bengaluru and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Accountable New process or technology transfer, validations (Process, Test method, Equipment), utilize risk assessments tools (FMEA) to assess the risks and implement countermeasures.
- Leading and executing the continuous improvement projects of varied Operations processes at Beckman Coulter Life science, Bangalore Manufacturing site.
- Accountable to create or update operating procedures, Tech transfer documents train the end users (internal and external), implement process, BOM preparations, Supplier qualifications, CAPA, drive document and change control management.
- Support the needs of internal customers with training, investigation and troubleshooting within the project scope.
- Effectively communicate with teams, customers, stakeholders, and leadership on project status, progress, risks and countermeasures.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- M.Sc. in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry or related discipline, with minimum of 6+ year’s industrial experience/PhD+ 1 to 2 years of industrial experience.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and resourceful, Working in GMP environment, understanding QMS and ISO regulations. Ability to work in a team environment & Excellent communication skill. Utilize data driven approach to negotiate and align with multiple stakeholders to solve problems (simple & complex), Go-to Gemba mindset.
- Experienced in handing Organic synthesis reactions, metal catalyst reactions, Dye synthesis and process development.
- Experience in performing and optimization of C-N and C-C coupling reactions. Having Synthetic organic chemistry and Conjugation chemistry knowledge with good Hands-on experience on HPLC, UPLC, GPC, TFF, Spectrophotometer, Fluorimeter and Automated purification system. Previous experience with polymer chemistry and protein conjugation will have an added advantage.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Expertise on organic synthesis of fluorescent dyes suitable for Flow Cytometry applications.
- Experience of utilizing 5 why or why-why analysis, Ishikawa investigation tools.
