The Data Science Manager is responsible for building and leading Radiometer’s Data Science Competency Center—a central, high-impact capability that delivers advanced analytics, modeling, and AI solutions across Product Development (NPD), Software PLM, and commercial/field operations. You will develop a cohesive strategy, operating model, and standards that scale globally, while mentoring a high-performing team and embedding DBS practices to deliver measurable outcomes for patients and customers.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Build the Competency Center (CoE): Establish the mission, service catalog, governance, and engagement model for a central Data Science capability that supports R&D programs, verification & validation, systems modeling, and data-driven product insights.
- Shape the strategy & roadmap: Define and execute a multi-year roadmap aligned to Radiometer STRAT priorities and DBS principles—covering use cases, platforms, skills, and measurable value creation.
- Deliver end-to-end solutions: Lead teams across the full lifecycle—from problem framing and data acquisition to model development, validation, deployment (MLOps), monitoring, and post-market performance analytics.
- Standardize practices & tooling: Harmonize methods (e.g., experiment design, statistical inference, ML modeling, simulation), pipelines (data engineering), and platforms (cloud analytics, model lifecycle tools) to ensure quality, reproducibility, and compliance.
- Strengthen data governance: Define data quality standards, lineage, documentation, and retention—supporting privacy, security, and regulatory expectations across geographies.
- Activate the community: Stand up training, playbooks, and internal communities (e.g., Python, KQL/ADX) to grow skills and democratize analytics while maintaining standards.
- Partner widely: Collaborate with product systems, software engineering, QA/RA, clinical affairs, marketing, service and regional teams to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources effectively.
- Own outcomes & budgets: Manage team capacity, vendor engagements, and budgets; report outcomes and impact through DBS Daily Management, Kaizens, and value metrics.
- Represent the function: Serve as Radiometer’s Data Science spokesperson with internal stakeholders, subsidiaries, and external partners; showcase results and best practices.
Essential Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience leading high-impact data science/analytics in global, matrixed organizations; proven people leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strategic mindset with a track record of translating complex opportunities into clear portfolios, execution plans, and measurable outcomes.
- POCT/medical software familiarity and strong domain empathy—able to align analytics to product performance, usability, and clinical value.
- Full-stack data science proficiency (problem framing, statistics, ML/AI, experimentation, causal inference, simulation) and MLOps (CI/CD for models, monitoring, governance).
- Data engineering & cloud analytics literacy (e.g., Python, SQL; modern data platforms; orchestration and model registries).
- Stakeholder management & communication excellence—from L1 leadership to cross-functional teams; adept at change leadership.
- Lean aligned execution, including Daily Management, PSP, Kaizen, Standard Work, and VOC.
