The EMEA Digital Pathology Integration Specialist is responsible for delivering seamless integration of digital pathology solutions across healthcare and research environments within the EMEA region. This role combines technical expertise, workflow optimization, and customer engagement to drive successful deployment and adoption of digital pathology platforms.
The specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams—including IT, clinical operations, and vendor partners—to configure, validate, and troubleshoot system integrations such as image management systems, laboratory information systems (LIS), and enterprise platforms. They will act as a subject matter expert for interoperability standards (e.g., DICOM, HL7), security compliance, and performance optimization, ensuring solutions meet regulatory and customer requirements.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
System Deployment & Maintenance
Deploy and maintain Leica Digital Pathology platforms and LIS connectivity within histology environments, in alignment with agreed specifications.Regional Support & Optimization
Provide implementation, integration, technical support, system monitoring, and performance optimization for both direct regions and indirect regions (supported through partners or distributors). Gather and analyze data to enhance system performance and customer experience.Customer Relationship Management
Serve as a frontline company representative, ensuring compliance with company policies, maintaining strong communication with end users to guarantee customer satisfaction.Collaborative Deployment
Partner with Digital Pathology teams to execute deployments at customer sites, engaging IT teams and laboratory leadership for effective implementations.System Integration
Integrate Leica Digital Pathology solutions into laboratory IT environments, focusing on interfacing with departmental IT systems in collaboration with regional Field Service Engineers (FSEs).IT Support Across Product Lines
Address laboratory-specific IT requirements to optimise Digital Pathology solutions across Leica product categories (PI, HI, AS), ensuring contractual obligations.Global Support & Enterprise Solutions Collaboration
Partner with Global Support & Enterprise Solutions teams to resolve major or persistent service issues.Training & Knowledge Transfer
Deliver product-specific and competency-based training for operators and end-users. Provide ongoing support during and after system deployment and go-live.Software Upgrades & Rollouts
Collaborate with business units, marketing, and sales teams to prepare for software launches and upgrades. Execute upgrades as required.Ad Hoc Projects
Participate in local projects and initiatives as assigned.
The essential requirements of the job include:
University qualification in an IT / Engineering discipline
Experience with histology equipment and laboratory processes
Proven ability supporting IT systems during entire Product Life Cycle
Successful record of dealing with external parties, such as third-party IT vendors
Fluency in English – local language is a plus
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Network configuration and setup such as firewall, setting fixed IP
Current and legacy Microsoft SQL to perform queries and backups
Mirth Connect HL7 interface engine to customise Leica Workflow interfaces
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Travel: Travelling required to customer sites, BU’s and congresses. Up to 25% of your time could be spent travelling with some out of routine laboratory hours work required.
