The Manufacturing Science Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of scientists responsible for the timely delivery of raw materials and finished products. They shall ensure defined KPIs are achieved and targeted improvements are identified, realised and sustained.
This position reports to the Operating Unit Manager – Manufacturing Science and is part of the Manufacturing Science team located in Newcastle Upon Tyne and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Drive and manage a sustained culture of achievement of high quality standards with a continued focus on GMP and right first time to ensure manufactured products are defect free and market ready.
Establish, monitor and drive the achievement of KPI through effective Daily Management.
Lead the management of associate development and training of Operations Associates in line with the Grading Structure to support progression through hands on coaching, mentoring, support and guidance.
The essential requirements of the job include:
A degree (or equivalent) within a relevant Biomedical or Biological Science.
Experience of working to a high level within the constraints of a regulated industry.
Strong Gemba based leadership and supervisory skills.
Demonstrated coaching leadership style with the ability to engage diverse, cross-cultural teams.
High levels of integrity, confidence, independence and Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Ability to interpret process data, identify trends, and drive improvement.
Ability to coordinate resource, timelines and deliverables in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Travel Requirements:
Travel expectations within this role are minimal (<10%)
It would be a plus if you also possess:
Technical knowledge in one of the following processes; Purification of Antibody, Hybridoma Tissue Culture, Recombinant Technology and/or Production of Cell Line Control Slides.
Experience in New Production Introduction.
Experience leading kaizens.
