The Test Development Engineer/Designer is responsible for providing automated test solutions for electronics modules for product development, qualification and manufacturing. In this role you will advance your LabVIEW development skills as part of an industry leading research and development team.
This position reports to the Research and Development (R&D) Manager and is part of the R&D department located in Concord, Ontario, Canada and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Design and validate functional tester concepts in collaboration with design and manufacturing teams.
- Develop LabVIEW code, automated test systems, and user interfaces for Mass Spectrometry electronic assemblies; integrate with test equipment and PXI instruments.
- Provide testability feedback during development, qualification, and release to manufacturing.
- Support new product test development, coordinate supplier builds, and manage hardware transfer to contract manufacturers, including Verification & Validation.
- Analyze failure and yield data, perform root cause analysis, and enhance test processes as needed.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) with strong electrical engineering fundamentals.
- 3+ years in electrical test development using National Instruments LabVIEW.
- Hands-on PCBA testing/troubleshooting and proficiency with electronic test equipment.
- Experience with schematic capture tools (e.g., DX Designer) and PC interfacing protocols (RS-232, USB, Ethernet, etc.).
- Knowledge of design for test/manufacturability and mechanical packaging/integration principles.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- LabVIEW certifications and experience integrating LabVIEW with other software (e.g., DLLs, Python).
- Additional programming expertise in languages such as C/C++ and Python.
- Familiarity with FPGA and microcontroller (MCU) technologies.
- Experience with PCB layout tools and mechanical CAD software.
- Knowledge of RF systems and/or high-voltage circuit design and measurement techniques.

The annual salary range for this role is $111,333 – 122,500 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
