The Manager, Compliance and Data Privacy is responsible for ensuring that IDT operates with integrity and in full compliance with global standards, internal policies, and applicable laws and regulations, such as anti-corruption (FCPA, UK Bribery Act) and fraud, waste, and abuse (e.g., U.S. AKS and FCA, UK ECCTA), as well as data protection legal requirements, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA (as applicable). This role is responsible for helping to develop, implement, and maintain programs that promote ethical behavior, regulatory compliance, and data privacy across the organization.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Support compliance with industry codes (e.g., AdvaMed, MedTech) and anti-corruption/anti-kickback (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act, AKS) laws and regulations through proactive daily guidance and the development, refinement, and implementation of written standards.
Conduct training and awareness programs for associates and third parties on ethical conduct, compliance policies, reporting mechanisms and data privacy.
Conduct risk assessments and monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Oversee and implement IDT’s data privacy program, ensuring compliance with internal company policies and global privacy regulations, e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PIPEDA, APPI including providing transactional support.
Serve as the primary privacy lead and liaison partnering across multiple functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing, HR, Product), and including with Senior Management, Legal and Information Security teams to embed privacy-by-design principles and provide solution driven and scalable data privacy advice.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., Masters of Law, LLM, JD, MBA, or relevant certification) preferred.
5+ years of experience in ethics & compliance and data privacy in life sciences, health care, or another highly regulated industry.
Experience managing effective compliance and data privacy programs.
Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
Certifications such as CCEP, CIPP/E, CIPM, or RAC is highly desirable.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and influence cross-functional teams.
Experience in AI, particularly key legal issues related to the use of generative artificial intelligence, and an appetite to develop this further.
