The Principal FPGA Verification Engineer is responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive testing procedures and protocols for FPGA-based systems. This role focuses on verifying and validating the performance, functionality, and integrity of FPGA designs for advanced microscopy products. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to develop effective verification and test solutions, collaborating closely with the Research and Development team to identify and address issues throughout the product development cycle. Additionally, the engineer will work with cross-functional teams—including Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Logistics—to ensure that product quality, reliability, and robustness meet established standards and exceed customer expectations.
This position reports to the Verification Manager and is part of the Research & Development Medical located in Singapore and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Verification Plan and Report Development: Create detailed verification plans, strategies, test cases, and reports to evaluate FPGA functionality, performance, and compliance with project requirements. Provide clear, concise reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Verification and Validation: Perform comprehensive verification of FPGA designs using various testing tools and equipment to ensure compliance with specified criteria such as speed, reliability, and power consumption.
- Issue Identification and Debugging: Identify, record, and diagnose issues in FPGA designs, ensuring thorough documentation and efficient resolution in collaboration with the development team.
- Automated Testing: Develop and implement automated test procedures to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
- Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance: Oversee continuous improvement in FPGA design verification and validation processes, contribute to quality assurance by evaluating designs against industry standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration.
The essential requirements of the job include
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with strong knowledge of FPGA technologies, FPGA development tools (Xilinx, Altera, etc.), and FPGA testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in FPGA testing equipment and software, ensuring accurate and efficient verification processes.
- Experience with scripting and programming languages for test automation, such as Python, VHDL, and Verilog.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Preferred background in the Medical Device industry, bringing familiarity with regulatory and quality standards.
