This Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical position is responsible for supporting the development, production, and continuous improvement of our products by driving design enhancements, ensuring manufacturability, and maintaining supply chain continuity. The role includes developing and validating electronic hardware, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position also oversees supplier and manufacturing partner performance, supports product transitions to production, and contributes to the reliability and scalability of medical diagnostic systems.
This position reports to the Sr. Manager, NPI Manufacturing Engineering, IDC and is part of the Global Instrument Operations and Global Supply Chain Organization. This position is located in Bangalore, India and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Implement design changes to improve manufacturability, ensure supply chain continuity, and enhance product reliability and cost-effectiveness. Drive the transition of products from development to full-scale manufacturing, with a focus on DFx principles.
- Create and modify schematics and PCB layouts using Altium. Apply signal integrity and EMI/EMC best practices in PCBA design and oversee component selection in collaboration with suppliers.
- Conduct and supervise testing of components and systems using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, probes, analyzers, and power supplies. Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards by managing internal and third-party testing activities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams—including hardware, software, biological, and chemical engineering—to identify root causes, implement redesigns, lead verification, validation, and Change Order processes.
- Oversee contract manufacturers and suppliers, monitor test yields, lead performance improvement initiatives, and develop new manufacturing sources in strategic regions. Serve as the primary contact for supplier-related issues and ensure timely resolution and regulatory compliance.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of hands‑on experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Proven experience in PCBA manufacturing including analog and digital board schematic and layout design, troubleshooting, and verification of electronics within tight physical constraints
- Demonstrated experience conducting failure investigations for electrical systems and components, including root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Ability to meet operational requirements including 10–25% travel, valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record, and capability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations and process implementation across multiple sites within electrical or electronics‑focused environments
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Competent with implementation of ISO 9001, with ISO 13485 preferred.
- Previous work experience in FDA regulated environment.
- Product transfer to a Contract Manufacturer (CM).
