The Software Product Manager, Automation Portfolio will be the bridge between customer needs, business objectives, and technical execution, driving the development of innovative products from concept to launch. You will deeply understand our technology stack and market landscape, translating complex technical capabilities into clear product requirements and user stories

This position reports to the Senior Director, Automation Portfolio and is part of the Liquid Handling Product Management team located in the vicinity of Indianapolis.

In this role, you will be required to:

  • Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your product area, aligning it with overall company goals and market opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback sessions to identify new product opportunities and enhance existing features.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, collaborating closely with engineering and design teams.
  • Monitor product performance, gather data, and use analytics to identify areas for improvement and inform future product iterations.
  • Support product launches by collaborating with marketing, sales, and support teams to develop go-to-market strategies and training materials.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, Computer Science, or a related scientific or engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong understanding of scientific workflows, laboratory processes, and the challenges faced by researchers.
  • Familiarity with laboratory automation technologies such as robotics, liquid handlers, plate readers, imaging systems, and sample management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate scientific and technical concepts into clear product requirements and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel – up to 30% globally
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25 lbs, any other physical requirements

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Commercial acumen
  • Launching new products
  • Customer engagement
  • Life Sciences market knowledge

The base annual salary for this role is $145,000 to $160,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
