Senior NPI Manufacturing Engineer
Beckman Coulter
The Senior NPI Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting the supply chain activities for new product introductions for Beckman Coulter Life Science Products in multiple manufacturing locations.
This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Global NPI Operations-Systems/Hardware and is part of the New Product Introduction Team located in Indianapolis, IN and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will you will have the opportunity to:
- Work with Suppliers and Procurement to complete Supplier Selections and Part Qualifications. You will be working with our Procurement and Supplier Quality groups to select suppliers capable of meeting the project requirements, documenting product qualification plans, and working with suppliers to complete product qualification reports.
- Work with Operations to complete the Process Development and Process Qualification. You will support new product introduction workshops to define and develop the process, develop work instructions, and set up the parts markets in production.
- Work with Planning to complete Part Releases. You will work with Development to release the prints and bill of materials, work with planning and logistics to release parts into production, and work with development and operations to assure production parts are available for pilot and production builds.
- Represent Operations as the Core Team member for the New Product Introductions.
The essential requirements for the job include:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 5 to 10 years experience in manufacturing, quality, or process engineering.
- Experience with instrumentation (equipment) design and integration including complex electro-mechanical systems, fluid handling, pneumatic, thermal systems, and optical systems.
- Experience with multiple materials and fabrication processes (machining, metal casting, carbon fiber, fasteners, adhesives, gaskets, etc.) and experience using CAD/CAE tools (Solidworks preferred), GD&T, statistical software, and project management tools.
- Experience in leading design change activities in a regulated environment (FDA/ISO/Automotive) while meeting project timeline deliverables.
- Experience with formal problem solving methodologies with analytical and statistical methods. Experience with leading large projects to completion with direct responsibility for delivering projects on time and meeting target costs.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 25% to other manufacturing locations or suppliers.
