The Support Engineer Information Technology for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for IT support for employees and sites in Germany, as well as for locations outside of Germany within the EMEAI region. Acting as the local IT point of contact between local business representatives and the IT organization. This position is part of the German IT site support team based in Munich and Krefeld also part of the EMEAI IT team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Configuration, deployment, and maintenance of PC hardware, Microsoft operating systems, and software.
  • Telephone, email/instant messaging, and hands-on support for employees primarily in Germany, but also across the EMEAI region. Recording incidents and requests in ticketing systems.
  • Troubleshooting of computer systems, including hardware and software, messaging, network, printers, telephony, peripherals, and accessories. Performing repairs and corrections where required.
  • Collaboration with infrastructure support teams and external contractors on the installation, configuration, and deployment of servers, network hardware, and other infrastructure equipment. Providing hands-on assistance as needed.
  • Support for global and local applications, participation in application deployment, testing, and validation. Involvement in local, regional, and global projects, as well as process improvement initiatives, occasionally leading local project activities.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Knowledge of information systems, typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in a Level 2 role (IT Site Support/Site Lead).
  • Fluent in English and German verbal and written
  • Strong interest in direct customer interaction and in successfully resolving both simple and complex IT issues in collaboration with global IT teams within a varied day-to-day work environment.
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are kept up to date to reflect changes in workflows and perform validation activities as required.
  • High degree of independence, accustomed to working autonomously and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues within a global IT organization.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Functional experience in medical DX/LS manufacturing, research and development, as well as in commercial environments.
  • knowledge of working with local or cloud-based backup systems.
