The Electrical Engineering Technologist is responsible for assisting Electrical Designers/Engineers in the development and qualification of research and engineering-grade electrical hardware. In this role you will advance your hardware development skills as part of an industry leading research and development team.

This position reports to the Manager, Electrical Hardware Development Operations, and is part of the MS Hardware Development team located in Concord, Ontario, Canada, and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with Electrical Designers and procurement teams to evaluate component suitability, availability, and equivalents, and support procurement and kitting for prototype PCBA builds.

  • Build cable harnesses, load boxes, and assist in developing and operating engineering test fixtures for new hardware qualification.

  • Maintain laboratory stock, including equipment registration, organization, and calibration upkeep.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Electrical Engineering Technologist diploma (or equivalent) with strong hands-on electrical experience; background in research-grade or rapid‑prototyping environments.

  • Proficiency in cable harness assembly, SMD/through‑hole soldering, and use of common electrical development tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators).

  • Knowledge of building and operating custom electronics test setups.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Eligibility for, or membership in, a certified engineering technologist association (e.g., OACETT).

  • Experience working with Electrical and Mechanical CAD software.

The annual salary range for this role is $81,500 - $89,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
