The Engineer, Field Service is responsible for providing professional field service support for Radiometer diagnostic analyzers (BG, IA) and IT solutions, ensuring stable system performance, high customer satisfaction, and reliable operation in hospital laboratory and POCT environments. This role performs a part in supporting service revenue growth, installed base protection, and customer trust through timely and effective technical support.
This position reports to the Service Manager and is part of the Service Team, Customer Support, located in Taipei (Taiwan). The role will work remotely and primarily cover the Taipei area, with additional responsibility for providing support across Taiwan and Hong Kong.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Radiometer blood gas and immunoassay analyzers in hospital environments.
Provide on-site troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and corrective service to ensure analyzer uptime and performance.
Support hospital Laboratory and POCT departments by resolving analyzer, software, and connectivity-related issues.
Deliver basic operation and application training to hospital staff to ensure safe and effective system use.
Collaborate with internal teams and Channel Partners to improve service efficiency, digital adoption, and customer satisfaction. >
The essential requirements of the job include:
University degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Practical experience in field service, installation, or technical support of medical devices or clinical diagnostic systems.
Working-level proficiency in both Taiwanese and English.
General IT knowledge, including operating systems, networking, servers, and basic system connectivity.
Ability to work independently in a field-based service role while following defined company procedures. >
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
Ability to travel extensively (approximately 90%) within the assigned territory, including frequent on-site hospital visits.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift, move, or carry service tools and equipment required for analyzer installation and maintenance.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Field service support for blood gas analyzers, immunoassay systems, or point-of-care diagnostic devices.
Supporting hospital IT environments, including LIS connectivity, system upgrades, or remote service solutions.
