The General Manager, India for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics will be responsible for leading a direct and indirect team of approximately 300 sales, service, application, customer support and marketing associates. This role will report to the Vice President, Diagnostics Platform, India and dotted line to Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations High Growth Markets. This critical leader will have responsibility for driving profitable revenue growth and building a great company with exceptional culture and engagement. She/ He will have the autonomy to drive goals and objectives, measure and monitor performance and critically contribute to a holistic strategic and business planning process. This role will get results through outstanding leadership skills, consistently fostering and supporting a culture of continuous improvement, with an eye on reaching optimum performance on an individual and team basis.
This position is part of the Diagnostics Platform and will be in Mumbai or Bengaluru or Delhi, India, and directly report to the Vice President, Diagnostics Platform, India. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast paced and leadership role and want to work to build a world-class Commercial organization
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Strategic Leadership & Goal Attainment: Develop and lead long-term strategic plans with detailed initiatives to achieve customer experience, growth, and profitability goals for the entire commercial organization within the designated geography.
2. Financial Management & Growth: Develop and manage annual budgets to ensure above-market growth by product line and area, consistently delivering budgeted performance.
3. Commercial & Market Strategy: Define and execute overall strategies for sales, application, service, and technical support functions, creating and implementing effective business and market strategies for new and existing service offerings.
4. Team Building & Development: Build and lead a high-performance team, including effective change management, succession planning, and driving employee engagement to foster a compassionate, inclusive, and positive work environment.
5. Drive DBS culture: Drive thorough business processes across a decentralized site structure, focusing on daily management and leveraging methodologies like DBS (funnel management, Kaizen) for continuous improvement.
6. Market Intelligence & Business Development: Maintain a strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, competitive and customer trends, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and enhance business ventures in collaboration with leadership.
7. Compliance & Risk Management: Establish and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, proactively minimizing and managing business risks.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business or life sciences technical field, MBA preferred, with 20+ years of work experience in the medical device, healthcare or life science research industry. And at least 10 years of successfully building and leading and engaging in a large commercial organization.
- Substantial experience within a fast-growing, complex business arena as a business leader with P&L responsibility in India would be preferred.
- Demonstrated strong strategic and analytical skills as well as solid business acumen, experience in profit and loss management and growth achievements.
- Ability to interface with and lead within a complex platform and regional team to achieve maximum results.
- Has a successful record in sales/marketing leadership and staff management, while functioning in a fast paced, action-oriented environment
LANGUAGE: English, Hindi and any local language would be a plus
TRAVEL: Estimated 60% of the time.
