The Staff Engineer is responsible for hands‑on system Automation and quality assurance across complex software systems. This role emphasizes deep Automation development expertise, ownership of Automation Strategy, execution and defect investigation, and practical application of automation development and AI‑assisted automation development. The position offers opportunities to work closely with development, verification and Devops teams while mentoring automation through execution‑driven leadership.

This position reports to the Senior Engineering Manager and is part of the Software Department team located in Bangalore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design end-to-end automation architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reusability by defining enterprise automation standards, best practices, object models, and governance frameworks.
  • Build roadmap for automation adoption, ROI tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement scalable automation frameworks and architectures for desktop, web, API, and integration testing.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques and AI-assisted tools to enhance test generation, coverage, maintenance, and defect detection.
  • Integrate automation architecture into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and actionable feedback.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring on automation design, architecture, and best practices and collaborate with DevOps and IT teams for seamless automation runs.
  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure testability, scalability, and quality by design. Own automation metrics like coverage, defect leakage, script stability, execution health and Conduct regular reviews of automation framework health.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 14+ years of experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks with strong focus on architecture, design, and strategy.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI/ML techniques or AI-assisted tools within test automation solutions.
  • Strong experience with C# and .Net architecting automation solutions for desktop, web, and API-based systems.
  • Experience defining automation strategy and integrating automation architecture into CI/CD pipelines using modern version control systems.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Designing automation solutions for complex or regulated software environments.
  • Evaluating and integrating third-party AI or automation tools and frameworks.
  • Providing technical leadership or mentoring within an automation or verification team and Exposure to Performance Testing or DevOps integration.
