The IT Equipment Engineer is responsible for the expert management of the critical IT components that power and control our in-vitro diagnostic automation instruments.
This position reports to the Embedded Systems Manager - Life Cycle Management team and is part of the R&D Hardware/Systems Development team located in Bengaluru – BDC and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Collaborate with R&D, instrument SMEs, and vendors to execute life cycle management projects of IVD automation instrument focusing on the embedded IT architecture, networking capabilities, and data management solutions.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle management of embedded IT components—including computers, operating systems, databases, and network interfaces—covering specification, integration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliant operation.
- Diagnosing and resolve complex IT-related issues affecting instrument functionality, including operating system failures, database corruption, network communication errors, and software conflict
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Minimum qualification of Engineering degree in Electrical or Electronics
- 5 - 8 years of experience in product development
- Experience in evaluating / working with off the shelf IT products / solutions such as Computer, Routers, Peripherals, Firewall devices, etc.
- Understanding and experience of product development life cycle
- Prior experience of executing, testing, qualification and verification of design changes for existing products
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience in medical device design & development
- Experience in IVD instrumentation, such as clinical chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, urinalysis, molecular microbiology or flow cytometry systems is a plus
- Exposure to medical device design processes and quality systems.
