The Senior Manager, Environmental Health and Safety is responsible for developing and executing EHS programs across the Duncan, SC Manufacturing site, ensuring full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state and local regulations. Manage compliance with environmental permits, hazardous waste programs and industrial hygiene initiatives. Serve as primary liaison with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, on all EHS matters. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation. Drive safety culture maturity through proactive engagement, leadership visibility, and employee advocacy.

This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing and is part of the Duncan Site Leadership Team located in Duncan, SC. The position is a 100% onsite role.

What you will do:

  • Lead and execute EHS programs across the site
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations
  • Be an active member of the site leadership team.
  • Lead investigations, determine root-cause and develop and implement solutions.
  • Manage the local safety team (Site Occupational Nurse, EHS Specialist) Engage with both management and associates on risk identification and risk management
  • Prepare and submit reports for all Environmental Health and Safety programs required by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Maintain site EHS KPIs and develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed KPI objectives.

Who you are:

  • Knowledgeable in the management of Environmental Health and Safety programs, as usually obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree in industrial health and safety, or related EHS discipline
  • A current EHS professional with 7-9 years of industry/manufacturing experience
  • Delivers results and KPI performance
  • Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills
  • Bias for action, Hands on, and continuous improvement mindset
  • Experienced with GENSUITE or other HSE data management system

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally – 10% (1-2 weeks/year)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 35lb, any other physical requirements

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Ergonomic risk control in a manufacturing environment
  • ISO14001 Management systems and auditing
  • Human Operational Performance (HOP)
  • Experience managing an Occupational Health Nurse
  • Ergonomics Experience
