The ideal candidate is a strategic AI leader with the authority and experience to set priorities, allocate resources, and lead both internal teams and external partners with discipline and rigor. This position reports to Limor Gultchin, Director of Data Science & AI.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Own intake, prioritization, and resource allocation within our portfolio company cluster, including triage and prioritization of opportunities based on business value and technical feasibility.
- Design and manage a multi-year AI roadmap, including sequencing of initiatives, build vs. buy decisions, vendor and platform evaluation through rigorous benchmark development, and definition of clear success metrics for value realization.
- Lead and manage internal team members and external vendors to ensure disciplined, high-quality execution across a portfolio of AI initiatives.

- Institutionalize repeatable playbooks, frameworks, and standards that scale AI capability across the portfolio, including governance and the design of technical standards for model evaluation, human-in-the-loop review and change management.
- Maintain strong, current knowledge of emerging AI technologies and apply that knowledge credibly in advising senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in balancing innovation with operational discipline, avoiding unnecessary complexity or technology churn.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field; Graduate degree is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI, with at least 2 years in a leadership or strategy-setting role, or equivalent academic experience.
- Demonstrated ability to own and drive a multi-year AI or technology roadmap from design through execution including prioritization and measurable outcome tracking.
- Experience managing and developing internal teams as well as external vendors and technology partners.
- Strong business acumen and track record of connecting AI initiatives to tangible operational or financial outcomes.
- Comfortable operating as a senior advisor to executive-level stakeholders, including investment and operating leadership.
- Deep familiarity and active, hands-on experience with the AI and ML technology landscape, including emerging tools, platforms, and vendors, as well as the ability to assess architecture fit, data requirements, integration complexity and output quality.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Experience in private equity, investment management, or working with portfolio companies is a plus.
- Embraces and actively promotes a team-oriented workplace.
