The Analytics & Quantitative Solutions (AQS) team within the Aladdin Business is responsible for delivering high-impact solutions to our clients’ investment, risk and business challenges, as well as expanding and enhancing Aladdin’s analytics capabilities through research and innovation, capitalizing on the collective intelligence of Aladdin's client community. Each team member is tasked with understanding market and investment practice trends along with client needs, and proactively offering new and comprehensive solutions using Aladdin analytics and data. The Associate within the AQS team will play a role in developing solutions to challenging problems for market practitioners, designing and developing analytics solutions projects and initiatives.

AQS is actively seeking a Associate to work in the diverse group of market and analytic experts, collaborating with business leaders to develop impactful and fit for purpose solutions for Aladdin clients across regions and industries. As part of the Applied Portfolio Analysis function within AQS, the person will also work with colleagues from the Aladdin Client Business, Aladdin Financial Engineering and Aladdin Product teams to evolve our analytics capabilities in portfolio risk and performance attribution space.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Collaborate with financial engineers to implement a derivatives risk and P&L decomposition solution as well as a matching suite of reports for stress testing, risk limit monitoring and hedge rebalancing
  • Work closely with partner teams across Aladdin to build custom complex solutions to address client challenges
  • Drive analytics, modeling, and investment tools improvements in Aladdin based on client feedback
  • Participate in firm-wide initiatives for enhancing analytics and strategic partner relationships
  • Coordinate to resolve analytics issues and ensure successful analytics model deployments and releases
  • Communicate cross-functionally with partner teams across BlackRock

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 4 years, or an equivalent experience, in financial services, financial technology or consulting
  • Previous exposure to IR/FX/Vol derivative valuation, greeks and P&L explain are highly desirable
  • Prior experience with Python & SQL as well as a strong appetite for coding are a must, experience with SnowFlake or PowerBI are beneficial
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in performance attribution (Brinson-Fachler & Factor Attribution) and the underlying mechanics of an attribution system
  • Proven ability to navigate complex quantitative systems, understanding and designing enhancements to core-components to evolve the analytics offering
  • Strong quantitative skills and proficiency with Excel is a must
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, able to convey finance concepts simply and clearly to clients while also translating client needs to internal quant and development teams
  • Keen interest in financial markets and ability to comprehend the impact of market events
  • Excellent problem solving abilities, and experience understanding complexity of clients' challenges
  • Enjoys a fast-paced, energy-filled environment. Work well in a team setting with autonomy. Well organized and able to handle multiple priorities
  • Academic degree(s) in Financial Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Management or some other quantitative field of study
  • CFA/FRM designation is desirable but not required
  • French and/or German language skills are desirable

Our hybrid work model
