About this role
The Client Business (CB) team is responsible for understanding the financial needs of the largest Institutions across APAC and translating these into commercial opportunities for our business. The team works with a wide range of clients including official institutions, insurers, banks, and pension providers to offer the full range of BlackRock active funds, ETFs and alternatives products. The APAC team is based in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Australia, South Korea and Japan, and works closely with colleagues around the globe to deliver the best of BlackRock to APAC Institutional investors.
The Global Consultant Relations (GCR) team sits within the broader Client Business group. GCR is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with global, regional, and local consultants across all asset classes. Professionals within the team work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services relevant to consultants and our mutual clients’ investment needs. Unified under one global client platform, individual client businesses are accountable for client relationships and distribution of products and services and are supported by a centralized marketing function which ensures consistency globally.
The role:
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the APAC GCR function, including developing and managing relationships with investment consultants across APAC. The incumbent will market the best of BlackRock’s investment capabilities to manager research and field consultants within the assigned firms. They will collaborate with client account managers to develop new business and service shared clients, developing relationships with key decision-makers within each firm. The candidate will collaborate with BlackRock’s investment business, client account teams, consultant support teams, and senior management to drive and protect business.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day responsibility for the management of consultant relationships in APAC, responding to queries, tracking activities, and overseeing meeting coordination and preparation.
Serve as a trusted partner and advisor to consultants, exhibiting deep knowledge of BlackRock’s investment capabilities, the market and the needs of our firms and mutual clients.
Work with GCR globally as well as the broader Client Business to drive new business and protect existing business.
Partner with investment teams to develop / execute product specific sales plans to consulting firms, including driving the due diligence process for Asia products with local researchers, and marketing Asia and global products in region to field consultants.
Develop strong relationships with consultants, with the ability to coordinate internal resources, and provide valuable consultant, competitor, and market intelligence in support of sales opportunities.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years as an experienced Relationship Manager with experience servicing consultants
Strong understanding of the APAC client and institutional investment landscape
High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity & ethics
Strong overall sales acumen and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Ambitious work ethic, professional disposition, detail–oriented, with a collaborative approach
Ability to build influential relationships both internally and externally at all levels and functions; ability to resolve challenging situations.
Experience of working for international organizations and ability to work in a multinational matrix environment preferred.
Strong people and team management skills, focused on driving a high-performance culture and career development for team members.
Language skills: Strong English proficiency both written and spoken required, local APAC languages a plus.
BA/BS degree level
Local securities license is required.
