What team will you be on?

The BlackRock Investment Institute (BII) team is at the heart of BlackRock's investment debate and portfolio construction. BII provides a platform for portfolio managers to debate timely market developments and distills those discussions into internal summaries and client publications. This nimble, global team has an outsized impact on BlackRock’s performance, commercial success and brand.

We are looking for an experienced financial editor and manager to lead BII’s global publishing team of seven.

Why is your role important?

The New York-based Head of Content will be an ace editor and experienced people manager responsible for the quality, clarity and timeliness of BII investment insights for BlackRock portfolio managers and clients. Working closely with BII’s Publisher, the role sets publication priorities, upholds editorial standards and drives innovation, including the use of AI, across the content production process.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global publishing team, working with the Publisher and other BII leaders to deliver insightful, high-quality content on tight deadlines

  • Set and uphold editorial standards, ensuring consistency, accuracy and clarity across BII publications

  • Harness AI and other innovations to improve editorial and production processes

  • Shape and drive BII’s social media and multimedia content, partnering with Digital Marketing

  • Work directly with senior BlackRock portfolio managers to summarize views and put together investment insights

  • Partner with Communications and other key teams to increase the impact of BII publications

  • Deliver key metrics to track and improve BII’s publishing impact

Qualifications:

  • Proven leader of content teams who consistently delivers outcomes in a high-pressure environment

  • Strong people management skills, with a track record of developing talent and building high-performing teams

  • Ability to partner effectively with senior portfolio managers and executives

  • Knowledge of and passion for economics and global financial markets

  • Superb writing, editing and storytelling skills

  • Confidence to work behind the scenes and make others look good

  • Ability to work at speed with intense attention to accuracy, detail and consistency; real-time financial news experience a plus

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$194,000.00 - USD$270,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
