About this role

Role Purpose

The HSE Associate will ensure compliance with Serbian occupational health regulations, with a primary focus on workplace injuries, illnesses, workplace needs, and ergonomics. This role will also support the global operations team by conducting quality assurance of incidents and workplace needs cases, as well as creating global metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the onsite specialist for occupational health.

  • Lead investigations and reporting of workplace injuries and illnesses in Belgrade.

  • Maintain compliance with local occupational health requirements.

  • Maintain required HSE documentation, training logs, policies, and occupational health records.

  • Oversee workplace needs assessments and ergonomic evaluations in Belgrade.

  • Identify and recommend improvements to layout, workflows, and environmental conditions (lighting, noise, temperature) that impact employee well-being.

  • Ensure all activities align with Serbian health and safety laws.

  • Maintain documentation and records for regulatory inspections.

  • Provide training and guidance on occupational health best practices.

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of incident reports and workplace needs cases globally to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting standards.

  • Collaborate with the global HSE team to standardize processes.

  • Develop and maintain global metrics and dashboards for incidents and workplace needs data.

  • Identify trends and recommend improvements for injury and illness prevention.

  • Support the implementation of global HSE initiatives at the local level.

  • Participate in global meetings, audits, reviews, and HSE program development.

  • Work closely with HR, Facilities, and Security to maintain consistent safety and occupational health practices.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture and serve as a trusted resource for employee support.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Occupational Health, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field (e.g., OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management).

  • Highest recognized occupational health credentials (e.g., Board Certification in Occupational Medicine, Serbian specialist certification, or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of Serbian occupational health and workplace safety regulations.

  • Proven experience in workplace injury/illness management, ergonomics, and compliance with Serbian regulations.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven reporting and metrics.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a global environment.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, authorities, and external vendors.

  • Proficiency in Serbian and English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NEBOSH

  • ENSHPO

  • Experience working in a corporate office environment.

  • Certification or training in ergonomics or injury prevention.

  • First Aid & CPR Certification
