Business Unit Overview:

The Americas Institutional Businesses (AIB) is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sophisticated institutional investors. Across the US, Canada and LatAm, AIB is focused on helping defined contribution (DC) plans, pensions, universities, non-profits, family offices, healthcare systems and other institutional investors meet their financial goals and serve their constituents and communities. We are comprised of teams of professionals with expertise spanning many functions working together to meet the unique needs of our clients including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management. Professionals within AIB work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services supporting our clients’ investment objectives.

About the Team:

The Client Solutions Group (CSG) within Americas Institutional Business (AIB) partners with sophisticated institutional and wealth clients across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America to deliver portfolio analysis, investment solutions, and industry thought leadership. Leveraging BlackRock’s global investment platform, technology (including Aladdin), and product suite, CSG supports clients in making better-informed portfolio decisions aligned with their long-term objectives. Within CSG, the Latin America Portfolio Consulting (PC) team engages with institutional and wealth clients across Latin America — including pension funds, asset managers, family offices, private banks, etc— across ETFs, mutual funds, active strategies, alternatives, and model portfolios.

Role Overview:

  • The Associate, Portfolio Consulting will serve as a partner to sales teams, and senior consultants and clients, by supporting the development of portfolio analyses and solutions; serve as product/investment specialist for client discussions. The role combines portfolio construction, risk analysis, and product expertise, with opportunities to contribute to scalable thought leadership and client research.
  • This position is based in Mexico and supports mainly Mexican clients - though not exclusively- with exposure to both institutional and wealth segments. In addition to portfolio-focused work, the role may support select enterprise‑level diagnostics in partnership with broader solutions teams, incorporating capital markets, regulatory, and financial considerations where relevant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver custom portfolio analyses and diagnostics, including risk/return analysis, factor and holdings analysis, scenario and stress testing, attribution, and portfolio optimization.
  • Participate in client meetings and conference calls in preparation for and, in completion of client projects.
  • Partner closely with sales teams and senior consultants to support client discussions, shape investment solutions, and drive adoption of BlackRock products through a solutions-led approach.
  • Manage a pipeline of client projects, coordinating scope, timelines, and delivery in collaboration with sales and CSG partners.
  • Leverage Aladdin and internal portfolio construction tools to deliver scalable, high-quality analytics and improve efficiency across the consulting process.
  • Contribute to peer analysis, and thought leadership, supporting client engagement and commercial initiatives.
  • Disseminate investment, portfolio construction, and product knowledge across sales, marketing, and client teams through presentations, materials, and ad hoc support.
  • Build strong partnerships across internal stakeholders, including product strategists, investment teams, and technology partners.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in portfolio management, investment research, or investment consulting, with exposure to Latin American and/or offshore portfolios.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline (finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or similar). CFA progress or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Strong foundation in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk modeling, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, client-ready insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Aladdin is a strong plus.
  • Programming or data skills (e.g., VBA, Python, SQL) preferred.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets across traditional, multi-asset, and alternative investments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-driven environment, managing multiple deliverables under tight timelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Spanish and English required; Portuguese is a plus.
