Analyst – Accounting Strategy & Policy
Job Description:
Blackstone’s Finance group is seeking an experienced and diligent professional for a promising opportunity as an analyst on the Accounting Strategy & Policy team for the firm. In this role, they will provide strategic accounting and policy support to Blackstone Inc., Blackstone Private Equity Fund (BXPE), as well as other Blackstone funds and Blackstone portfolio companies on accounting for new and complex products and transactions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Research, communicate and document accounting issues and related solutions, in support of Blackstone and BXPE’s public filings in coordination with controllership, operations, investor relations, FP&A and legal and compliance teams
- Develop accounting policies and procedures for both GAAP and non-GAAP measures and metrics
- Provide accounting and structuring advice on proposed transactions in consideration of company’s reporting objectives
- Assist controllership and SEC reporting teams with preparation of required SEC filings
- Follow development of relevant US GAAP accounting standard setting at the Financial Accounting Standards Board, rule-making at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), IFRS accounting standard setting at the International Accounting Standards Board and related interpretations from Big 4 accounting firms. Determine applicability to Blackstone, Blackstone Funds (including BXPE) and our portfolio companies. Where applicable, lead implementation efforts at Blackstone for new standards, rules and interpretations related to US GAAP and non-GAAP measures.
- Assist in adherence to SEC independence rules by coordinating with accounting firms, business units and portfolio companies, preparing training materials, and designing policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with a Big 4 or a combination of Big 4 and Financial Services industry experience
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Excellent research skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Solution-oriented creative thinker
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized with a robust work ethic and a positive attitude
- Committed to continuous process improvement

Expected annual base salary range:
$90,000 - $125,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
