Job Description:

Blackstone’s Legal & Compliance group offers Summer Analysts the opportunity to be immersed within an in-house legal team of a leading financial services organization. This position is ideal for a candidate who is considering attending law school and/or business school and have an interest in private funds, public company, litigation and transactional law from an in-house legal perspective. The candidate will play an integral role on an in-house legal team and be trained and mentored by leading corporate attorneys with significant experience in the financial services space. Please note that this is a generalist role within Legal and candidates have the potential to be placed within any of the verticals within Blackstone’s Legal team for the summer program.

Summer Analyst Responsibilities May Include:

Blackstone’s Legal team expects Summer Analysts to be engaged in all aspects of the group’s work. This may include:

  • Assisting in analyzing and supporting drafting of a variety of documents, including contracts, agreements and corporate governance documents
  • Collaborating among internal stakeholders on the execution of deals and other initiatives
  • Performing legal due diligence on prospective investments
  • Assisting in responding to regulatory inbounds, including fact finding and review of filings
  • Providing support relative to structuring, formation and offering of any new funds, products or securities
  • Analyzing compliance with fund documents in connection with new transactions or investments
  • Researching and summarizing industry trends, best practices, and regulatory and case law developments, including potential impact on the industry and firm
  • Assessing current and prospective risk through industry and government-focused research
  • Assisting in preparing materials responsive to existing investors’, stockholders’ and other stakeholders’ requests
  • Supporting the firm’s Legal training initiatives

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are detail-oriented, process-driven, and have a genuine desire to learn and expand their skillsets in a team-based setting. Prior internship or work experience in the financial services industry or legal industry is preferred. The successful candidate should have:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong team player with a desire to contribute to a collaborative work environment
  • Exceptional ability to project-manage disparate workstreams
  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write effectively
  • Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial mindset, and desire to continuously improve
  • Sound judgment
  • Substantial initiative, creativity, and drive

Expected annual base salary range:

$100,000 - $100,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
