Our strategies include Absolute Return, which supports diversification, and Multi-Strategy, which invests opportunistically across asset classes, including direct investments.

Job Description:

The Portfolio Strategy Group (PSG) is a part of the Absolute Return investment team within BXMA. PSG is responsible for bringing a technical investment lens to client and prospect interactions. More specifically, PSG liaises with the BXMA sales team and a variety of other teams within BXMA, to ensure that:

  • Portfolios are positioned to accomplish the long-term objectives of our clients.

  • Performance outcomes are well understood by our clients in the context of broader market and industry developments.

  • Clients view BXMA as a long-term partner that can help enhance their organizations beyond simply managing their capital.

Responsibilities:

  • Client & Prospect Coverage – The most essential function of PSG generally, and this role specifically, is to work closely with clients and prospects to ensure a strong experience. This includes developing a detailed knowledge of each organization’s unique needs, delivering portfolio reviews to existing clients, and working with the portfolio construction team to position current and prospective mandates for success.

  • Continued Enhancement of Optimal Positioning – PSG is responsible for the core positioning that we use with all clients and prospects to explain our investment performance, our investment process, and our value-add. The team will continue to refine this positioning over time as our offerings, the markets, and our competitive advantages evolve.

  • Thought Leadership – Contribute to external white papers, thought pieces, and other content that will help communicate our messaging to clients and potential prospects.

  • Provide Guidance on Materials – Provide specifications to partner teams on what materials need to be created for a given client or prospect deliverable. Periodically, in time sensitive situations, pitch in on creating materials.

  • Liaise with Sales Team on Long-Term Business Plans – Work with senior sales teams, for different client types and jurisdictions, to determine what is needed to support growth.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in hedge funds, an allocator role, or multi-asset investment management would be ideal but other areas of financial services may also be considered

  • CFA or second degree is a bonus but is not imperative.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Good process and project management skills.

  • Ability to think quickly and manage a number of deliverables, from a variety of stakeholders, simultaneously.

  • Interest in financial markets, investing.

  • Interest in business building, desire to be commercial.

  • Interest in interaction with prospects and clients.

Expected annual base salary range:

$200,000 - $225,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
