Job Title: BXCI Compliance, Associate

The Compliance Associate will be an integral part of the compliance team dedicated to the Compliance Program covering the investment businesses described above. Primary job responsibilities include:

Job Description:

  • Provide regulatory and compliance advice to investment professionals and other personnel including preparation of reports to the investment team and senior management regarding compliance matters with a focus on private credit transactions
  • Manage confidential information within the Blackstone Credit & Insurance business, across Blackstone business units, and externally, including information deemed subject to the Market Abuse Regulation.
  • Manage intake of confidential information including dealing directly with external counterparties.
  • Manage all aspects of trade restrictions including clearing trades and maintaining the restricted list on an ongoing basis.
  • Facilitate wall crosses among Blackstone’s business units.
  • Devise, initiate, maintain, and revise compliance and regulatory policies, procedures, controls, and training based on the specific needs of the business and current regulatory requirements particularly ones related to confidential and material non-public information.
  • Work with team in responding to requests from regulators, preparing for regulatory examinations, and conducting mock examinations in conjunction with external consultants and counsel.
  • Advise on licensing considerations for private credit transactions in EMEA.
  • Support BXCI regulatory and compliance queries, collaborating with Blackstone Compliance teams in London, Dublin and New York.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the existing compliance program, which covers EU and UK regulations such as MiFID II, AIFMD, MAR, 5MLD, etc., and Blackstone’s policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ad hoc European regulatory projects which potentially impact the Credit business.

Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years of experience in the legal, compliance or regulatory fields, exposure to Credit Businesses advisory a plus
  • Ability to set priorities, be proactive in new situations, and to independently manage projects to conclusion is important.
  • Must be a strong and independent thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships, internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of and ability to communicate risks, best practices and regulatory requirements (U.S. and international).
  • Desire to work as part of a highly collaborative compliance team in a dynamic environment and willingness to embrace a variety of issues and devise solutions to problems.
