The team is responsible for overseeing the existing portfolio, providing impactful insight and analysis to key internal and external stakeholders, including Portfolio Managers, Chief Investment Officers and investors. Additionally, the Asset Management Group is equipped to provide targeted interventional support in distressed and special situations.
Off Cycle Interns are generalists and participate in all aspects of projects and can expect to work on a number of assignments at one time. Due to the relatively small size of the professional staff, teams are typically small, and interns are therefore expected to assume important and integral roles.
Interns will work within one of two specialised areas:
Portfolio Insights: Focused on analyzing portfolio performance, benchmarking against market conditions, and generating actionable insights to optimize investment outcomes.
- Benchmark investments against market trends, competitive landscapes, and macroeconomic conditions to evaluate relative performance.
- Produce actionable insights and recommendations to support Portfolio Managers, Chief Investment Officers, and other key decision-makers.
- Perform detailed portfolio analysis to support ICS’ ongoing fundraising efforts and due diligence queries.
- Monitor trends and emerging developments in the market to identify risks and opportunities for the portfolio.
- Participate in specific asset management processes and contribute independent analysis and insights based on data.
Restructuring and Special Situations: Focused on providing strategic support for distressed investments, including restructurings, recapitalizations, and other value-maximizing interventions.
- Interacting closely with portfolio company management teams
- Developing multi-year business plans, corporate strategy and determining financial objectives
- Building liquidity monitoring tools such as weekly cash flow forecasts and financial models
- Exploring options for asset monetization at a portfolio company, including M&A, sale and wind-down / liquidation
- Develop presentations and assist with deal-specific issues, providing clear and concise communication of findings and recommendations.
