Infrastructure & Asset-Based Credit

Blackstone Credit & Insurance is one of the largest credit asset managers in the world and is a leading investor in structured credit through its Infrastructure & Asset-Based Credit (“IABC”) platform. IABC employs a broad strategy with investments across infrastructure debt, asset-based lending, sustainable resources, and corporate solutions through both private and public markets. IABC targets investments across multiple key sectors including residential credit, energy transition, infrastructure, consumer & commercial finance, along with large corporate companies.

Job Description:

The ABF Residential team manages residential credit investments across the capital structure and across a variety of product types (single family rental, non-QM, residential transition loans, etc.). The team specializes in private, complex transactions and scalable partnerships, leveraging diverse structures to achieve attractive returns for a variety of strategies. Due to the team’s relatively small size, this is an integral role across the investment process. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Conducting due diligence on prospective credit investments, with a focus on residential credit investments, including originator/borrower meetings, industry research, financial modeling, and investment material preparation

  • Assisting in the underwriting, onboarding, and monitoring of residential mortgage originators

  • Structuring and executing capital markets transactions and RMBS securitizations

  • Collaborating with the investment team to underwrite opportunities, leveraging Blackstone’s various teams and resources as needed

  • Drafting and presenting materials for investment committees

  • Monitoring existing investments, including tracking KPI’s and continuously challenging the validity of the investment thesis

  • Thinking creatively about ways to improve the team’s existing processes

  • Analyzing and modeling new strategic initiatives and business development opportunities

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition, the successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university

  • 2 or more years of relevant experience (investment banking, sales and trading, consulting, structured credit, hedge fund, etc.). Past structured credit experience is helpful but not required

  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn

  • Strong financial modeling and evaluation skills and technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel/VBA; SQL/Python preferred

  • Experience preparing presentation materials in Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; and a desire to work in a team environment, often under pressure

  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills

  • Resourceful problem-solver with strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Comfort working with large, disparate data sets and solving technical problems

  • Professional integrity, strong work ethic, and attention to detail

Expected annual base salary range:

$140,000 - $160,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
