Job Description & Responsibilities:
The Tax Assistant Vice President will provide domestic and international investment and tax compliance support for Blackstone’s Multi-Asset Investing (“BXMA”) funds. This individual will help implement best practices for compliance and reporting as they relate to BXMA’s business as well as:
• Review entity level book to tax calculations, tax returns, tax allocations, and K-1s for federal and multi-state at the investment and feeder fund levels (for partnership, corporations, and mutual funds).
• Coordinate with third party fund accountants, financial reporting, and tax advisors to ensure proper accounting of transactions.
• Identify potential tax issues upon investment acquisition or disposition.
• Assist in new product development, including modeling tax leakage, leading discussions on intended fund structure, and understanding investor concerns.
• Review trading activity and securities analysis reports for tax adjustments including wash sales, constructive sales, and straddles.
• Respond to tax authority requests, including handling of notices received from taxing authorities.
• Assist in tax audits for various jurisdictions.
• Research domestic and foreign tax reporting issues.
• Assist with tax compliance for funds in other business units, including retail and co-investment products.
• Respond to Limited Partners' tax inquiries or ad-hoc requests, including but not limited to investment IRR and due diligence questionnaires.
• Supporting Finance team & liaising with other business units, as needed.
• Identify areas of risk and opportunities for efficiency.
Qualifications:
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors as well as:
• 5+ years of Big 4 tax experience in the alternative asset management industry (Investment Partnership Preferred).
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field.
• Partnership tax experience preferred.
• CPA or graduate degree preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and work with complex data to drive decision-making.
• Produce timely and accurate allocations with an emphasis on the importance of supporting work paper documentation.
• Team player.
• Effective verbal and written communicator.
• Highly organized and proactive.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic culture, and take initiative and be hands-on.
• Professional integrity of the highest order.
• Strong work ethic, responsiveness, and passion for learning.

Expected annual base salary range:
$130,000 - $200,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
