Job Description:
Blackstone is seeking a Vice President for the Real Estate Legal and Compliance team in New York. The candidate will support the Real Estate funds, serving as an important nexus between the Blackstone fund formation attorneys, the Blackstone Real Estate transaction attorneys and the Blackstone Real Estate Legal and Compliance team. The candidate will also work cross-functionally across the Real Estate business and will collaborate with the Real Estate Acquisitions, Asset Management, Institutional Client Solutions Group, Tax and Finance teams.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and review private placement memoranda, working with institutional client group and portfolio management on business content and managing outside fund counsel in production
- Review and provide input on compliance and operations-related investor side letter provisions in connection with fundraisers
- Liaise with US and Luxembourg AML teams on AML reviews of prospective and existing investors
- Prepare, implement, and maintain fund-specific policies and procedures (i.e., excuse rights, transfer, redemption, NAV, valuation policies and procedures)
- Oversee compliance function in connection with acquisitions and dispositions, including appropriate documentation of allocation of investment and co-investment opportunities, identification and communication of potential investor excuse rights, and adherence to fund investment limitations
- Provide day-to-day support to fund accounting, tax, and portfolio management teams in interpreting and applying limited partnership agreement and side letter contractual obligations
- Assist institutional client group and portfolio management in facilitating investor fund transfer and conversion requests
- Conduct quarterly review and confirmation of compliance with limited partnership agreement and investor side letter obligations
- Coordinate annual compliance meetings for each of the currently investing funds, to review limited partnership agreement and investor side letter obligations and certain key topics with outside fund counsel, Blackstone fund formation attorneys, Institutional Client Solutions Group, Tax and Finance teams
- Support Real Estate Legal and Compliance team in preparing Form D, Form PF, AIFMD and Form ADV and other regulatory filings and ensure timely submission
- Oversee and manage junior Real Estate Legal and Compliance team members in execution of above responsibilities
Qualifications:
Blackstone Real Estate Legal and Compliance seeks to hire individuals who are detail-oriented, process-driven, and have a genuine desire to learn and grow in a collaborative team-based setting. The successful candidate should have:
- JD preferred
- Minimum of six years of relevant experience
- Strong team player with a desire to contribute to a collaborative work environment
- Exceptional experience to independently manage disparate workstreams
- Strong work ethic, sound judgement, initiative, creativity, and drive

Expected annual base salary range:
$165,000 - $250,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
