We're looking for a Business Analyst who will support the development and management of system and process improvements for the product, pricing, and compliance functions within the Media Sales Operations team. Acting as an associate product owner, this role will focus on documenting, evaluating, and refining business requirements to ensure initiatives are aligned with team objectives.
You will apply an outstanding blend of technical proficiency, analytical mindset, and organizational skills to document and translate business objectives into actionable technical requirements, while aligning compliance needs across our media properties, encompassing digital, television, audio, print, social media, and events.
We'll trust you to:
- Translate business and compliance requirements into scalable, secure solutions by collaborating with technical teams to ensure systems and processes align with business objectives
- Collaborate with business leaders, sales, operations, and product teams to understand and document pre- and post-sale requirements for commercial media operations, including advertising, subscriptions, and events
- Serve as a strategic link between business collaborators and the Data & Systems Team, facilitating discussions to drive consensus on solution architecture, integrations, and system improvements while ensuring all solutions are fully validated and aligned with business needs before development and deployment
- Identify risks, dependencies, and roadblocks early in the project lifecycle, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain a clear feedback loop with business stakeholders to ensure effective project management
- Support the project management team in defining milestones, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility
- Collaborate with Change Managers and Trainers to ensure the accurate facilitation of the solution, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive adoption and knowledge sharing
- Ensure business requirements align with company policies, industry regulations, and Bloomberg compliance standards while collaborating with compliance and legal teams to assess potential risks in workflows and define effective mitigation strategies
- Support Bloomberg Media’s advertising compliance initiatives by leading ad clearance and reviewing third-party contracts, ensuring strict adherence to internal policies and external regulatory standards
You’ll need to have:
- Minimum 2+ years in the media and advertising industry, with experience in operations, product management, or an advertising technology environment
- An ability to think strategically in support of initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and regulatory alignment
- Experience working with advertising platforms and systems (programmatic, direct-sold, and emerging ad technologies), including documenting processes, identifying requirements, and connecting business objectives to platform capabilities to support informed decision-making
- Strong analytical and data-driven attitude, with proficiency in Excel and experience using reporting tools and SQL (or similar) for querying, data validation, and developing insights that support business requirements gathering, process improvements, and product decision-making
- Be comfortable speaking with diverse audiences, including sales and clients, demonstrating the ability to translate technical subject matter into relatable business terminology and respond to unexpected questions on the spot
- Strong time management skills to ensure we are effectively handling requests and deadlines both internally and externally
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining attention to detail and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
