Senior Software Engineer - Terminal Backend Connectivity
Bloomberg
Who are we?
The Terminal Backend Connectivity team is responsible for providing necessary infrastructure for the Bloomberg Terminal software to communicate with the backend. This involves authorization, routing, load balancing and execution of user-requested functions (RAPID/R+). We own core mission-critical software that keeps the terminal connections alive and performant. At peak, we support over 5 million concurrent Rapid application executions and process over 500 million R+ worker requests per day and over 250 billion messages flow through the USER machines back to the terminal.
We are embarking on the next generation of the terminal architecture by incorporating industry standard protocols and making the backend infrastructure truly distributed. The new infrastructure will use cutting-edge web framework to serve the terminal. This will allow the infrastructure to scale horizontally to meet future demands.
