Bloomberg's AV team touches every business unit and every service offering within the organization. It’s the primary resource utilized to facilitate real-time face-to-face communication and enables remote location collaboration. Audiovisual is utilized everywhere and will need to be accessible anywhere to ensure smooth outcomes in your day-to-day. We also deliver outstanding service during onsite events on a local and global scale.
What’s the role:
We are seeking an experienced AV Technician to join Bloomberg’s Employee Technical Support team in our Hong Kong office. This role is a combination of technical event execution, AV infrastructure maintenance, technical escalation support and vendor management. You’ll be primarily tasked with coordinating and delivering AV events within Bloomberg’s offices. This includes both setting up higher profile events in our MPRs and auditorium event spaces as well as providing support in our training rooms. When not executing events, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of our conference rooms, AV event spaces, training rooms, digital signage, overhead paging and high-level tech support needs. A top candidate will have extensive experience operating AV equipment during live events, maintaining AV infrastructure and providing best of class customer service to our internal and external stakeholders. We’ll trust you to:
- Deliver the best in class customer service
- Lead as a live event technician, working closely with key stakeholders and partners to deliver seamless experiences
- Work as a wider AV Operations team across APAC with the ability to back each other up
- Multi-task on high profile events including vision/audio mixing, hot head operator, LX, floor managing, racking cameras
- Oversee all aspects of corporate AV needs and provide white glove service where needed, adapting communication styles based on audience
- Work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment involving live events, IPTV, video conferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.), training room management and general AV infrastructure support
- Look for ways to continuously improve our service offering and strive for global alignment
- Troubleshoot sophisticated audio, video, network switching and control systems problems
- Meet with stakeholders to discuss audio, lighting, and video/content requirements
- Manage vendor activities and maintain both new and existing vendor relationships to ensure fulfillment of their contractual obligations
You’ll need to have:
- Demonstrated experience completing technical installation of AV technology, including site preparation, termination and calibration of audio and video equipment
- Experience with AV event coordination, working across teams and skill sets to ensure each and every event is produced effectively
- Experience in setup, test, calibration and commissioning equipment and devices as required to build a fully functional AV system in a corporate environment
- Experience in coordinating onsite vendors in both an event delivery setting and break fix
- A steadfast demeanor towards customer service
- Strong motivation and drive, along with proven analytical and problem solving abilities
- Flexibility and enthusiasm when assisting our service desk and support teams with trouble tickets
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure any CAD drawings are maintained despite the scale of the change
- Experience working with high profile guests and c-suite executives
- Knowledge of digital signage systems and overhead paging systems
- Ability to operate successfully in a global landscape and have the dedication to move towards standardization and continuous improvement of processes
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, innovative environment demonstrating high energy, a sense of urgency and decisiveness
- Flexibility in work hours, dictated by event schedule and business needs
- Fluency in both written and spoken English
We’d love to see:
- Audio DSP, video processing, control system platform certifications (i.e., Ross, Shure, GrandMA Q-Sys, Extron, Crestron, AVIXA)
- Network security and vulnerability standard methodologies
- Solid understanding of today's AV technology
