We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced assignments Photo Editor to join our team. You will have excellent picture judgment, a creative eye and strong editorial skills, to join our Visual Media Team. You will have responsibility for identifying, conceiving and delivering competitive news images from the EMEA region for Bloomberg's multiple platforms - including mobile, digital, social - and global clients. The ideal candidate must work well under pressure, have excellent news judgement, be able to quickly pair photos to stories and have the technical skills required to process imagery.

We'll trust you to:

• Work side-by-side with our news desk collaborating daily with editors and photographers to deliver high quality imagery.
• Assign and lead news photographers internationally.
• Provide visual solutions for Bloomberg stories.
• Deliver and initiate ideas for photo assignments on a daily basis.
• Process a large volume of information, rapidly interpret text and match with appropriate imagery.
• Consider cultural sensitivities to make photo choices that are both accurate and tasteful.
• Lead legal issues involved with image licensing, permissions and privacy rights.

You'll need to have:

• Minimum of 5+ years relevant photo editing experience in a news environment.
• Advanced experience with image editing tools Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, FTP, and CMS/DAM publishing systems.
• Have a high level of interest and awareness of current affairs affecting global markets, economics, geopolitics, companies, government policy, business and finance
• Excellent verbal and proven written communication skills including the ability to write accurate captions.
• Experience in assigning and managing photographers in the field.
• An ability to research, select and attach imagery to stories .
• Experience with multimedia storytelling and video editing skills.
• Strong organizational, communication and collaborative skills.
