The CRO team provides coverage of both Bloomberg's products and services, globally. Our focus is to address risks and related issues by providing risk management as a service, focusing on delivering value to help businesses and departments thoughtfully incorporate risk into decision-making.

The Risk Advisory team within CRO is seeking an experienced Risk Officer to support Bloomberg’s ESG ratings offering. The Risk Officer has responsibility for:

· Ensuring the Governance, Risk and Control Frameworks are operating effectively;

· Maintaining and updating such frameworks as approved by the relevant Board;

· Measuring the Risk Frameworks against agreed risk appetite and tolerance levels;

· Compiling, assessing and reporting risk information to the relevant Board;

· Partnering with Compliance to ensure control and process activities comply with relevant regulations.

We will trust you to:

· Support the development and ongoing enhancement of a comprehensive risk management framework for ESG rating activities

· Develop, manage and refine qualitative and quantitative risk reporting which meets the needs of the relevant Board’s effective decision-making

· Work closely with the relevant Board and senior managers across the business in shaping a high-achieving, well-controlled organisation

· Formulate and articulate risk appetite and tolerance thresholds that can be capitalised using financial models

· Partner with Business and Technology to perform risk and controls identification, deliver efficiency and control improvements, where necessary, through process analysis, collaboration, design, and implementation

· Implement and oversee an issue management process, including issue identification, root cause analysis, remediation tracking, and documentation

· Analyse functional and support gaps, identify risks, propose solutions, and manage execution

· Provide second-line oversight, review, and challenge of ESG rating models and methodologies

· Assess the risk implications of methodology or model changes and provide independent challenge to ensure sound governance and decision-making

· Partner effectively with third parties, regulatory bodies and others, as appropriate, and serve as a role model for high personal and corporate ethical values and standards of integrity

· Maintain subject matter expertise on evolving ESG regulatory requirements, with a focus on those affecting ESG ratings and model governance

You will need to have:

· 10+ years* of experience in risk management, data management, technology, corporate governance, regulatory and operational risk, or information and security risk

· Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or related discipline

· Recognised risk certification (i.e. PRM or FRM) preferred

· Strong understanding of fundamentals of risk management, control assessment and/or control testing activities

· Demonstrated ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders across different teams

· Knowledge of the regulatory environment and key regulatory regimes, including basic understanding of EU and UK regulatory landscapes

· Ability to communicate complex regulatory, model, and risk concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

· Proven intellectual curiosity through professional training, advanced degree or professional impact

· Prior experience in either a 1st or 2nd line of defence capacity

· Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver work on assigned schedules

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to act decisively and independently to resolve sophisticated issues

We’d love to see:

· Individuals who are passionate about all things Risk and are genuinely excited about playing their part in helping build a best-in-class program

· Self-starter, with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and a positive work attitude

· Strong business acumen

· Familiarity with ratings-related regulatory requirements and/or control practices

· Experience directly engaging with regulators
