Our team:
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join the BloombergNEF (BNEF) Summit team in London. In this role you will work closely with the existing Summit Director and their team to deliver Summits, Forums, and other high profile BNEF events around the world. This will include authoring agendas, speaker recruitment, sponsor engagement, and providing input on the strategic locations and themes for BNEF’s live events around the world. Currently, this includes eight Summits and ten Forums, as well as the opportunity to provide input on a suite of other strategic initiatives such as BNEF’s Academy, BNEF Briefings, innovation and inclusion events. These gatherings feature topics of strategic importance to BNEF customers and prospects and showcase our proprietary research and thought leadership. This dynamic role works closely with BNEF’s research and sales teams, journalists and researchers in other Editorial & Research teams, as well as with Bloomberg’s marketing and events professionals – working across all of the facets required to bring a live event to life.

You have a strong ability to synthesize ideas and communicate your observations both one-on-one and to wider groups. You enjoy collaborating, multitasking and have enthusiasm for your work. You are excited by the prospect of collaborating with colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds to bring together communities at the forefront of the energy transition.
We will trust you to:
- Work with different research teams across BNEF and Bloomberg to identify key issues to showcase at live events
- Conduct your own research to identify the key issues, organizations and thought leaders in the energy transition
- Engage with senior executives and their teams to identify their potential contributions to the narrative at our events
- Identify business development opportunities and work closely with colleagues in the commercial team to bring direct sponsorship and subscription sales to fruition
- Assess and prioritise topics that deliver a compelling agenda, relevant to an event’s theme and location
- Take ownership of specific aspects of the agenda and effectively delegate elements to colleagues
- Keep high quality records of each event to support continued cooperation with colleagues
- Demonstrate leadership internally and externally for the events and initiatives you lead
- Find common purpose to engage, persuade and lead individuals and groups
- Confidently formulate views based on multiple, sometimes conflicting, sources
- Work on parallel tasks and organise yourself and others to execute on complex plans, simplifying wherever possible
- Work in a global team with a high degree of professionalism alongside colleagues and clients from diverse cultures
You'll need to have:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a research, strategic, event or commercial role
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and convening
- Able to work under pressure, prioritise efficiently, and make quick but thoughtful decisions
- Self-starter, adaptive learner and can work independently
- Effective communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong knowledge of or demonstrated interest in energy, transport, finance, or business as it relates to the energy transition, decarbonization, climate or sustainability
- Ability to travel
We'd love to see:
- Experience as an analyst or journalist within energy, finance, or associated industries
- Knowledge of multiple languages
