Our Japan business is growing exponentially - come join us and be part of a dynamic team that is making history! At Bloomberg, you will work with the largest global financial corporations and the sharpest minds in the industry!
The AIM Implementation Team is responsible for solution design and delivery of Order Management, Post Trade, Compliance, and Research Management solutions for Bloomberg’s Buy-Side customers. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Program Manager to lead large-scale, high-impact transformation initiatives for our Buy-Side clients in Japan. This individual will operate as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, driving complex, multi-workstream programs that span business process transformation, technology implementation, and operating model design. The role requires deep domain expertise, executive presence, and the ability to influence decision-making at the highest levels across both client organizations and Bloomberg.
The individual selected for this position will lead mission-critical programs with significant visibility, often involving multiple stakeholders, regions, and integrated Bloomberg and third-party solutions. A typical engagement is as much about shaping strategic outcomes and driving organizational change as it is about delivering technological solutions.
We’ll trust you to:
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-phase programs onboarding clients onto Bloomberg Buy-Side Solutions
  • Act as a senior escalation point and trusted advisor to client executives and internal stakeholders
  • Define and govern program strategy, including roadmap development, success metrics, and executive reporting
  • Establish and drive robust program governance frameworks across multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring alignment across Bloomberg teams, clients, and third-party vendors
  • Navigate and influence complex client organizations to define clear program objectives, milestones, and timelines with a high degree of confidence and credibility
  • Drive the design and implementation of a client’s Bloomberg Target Operating Model (TOM), aligning technology solutions with strategic business goals
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities across programs, and lead mitigation and resolution efforts
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, contributing to the overall growth and capability of the implementation team
  • Champion best practices and contribute to the evolution of Bloomberg’s implementation methodologies and client engagement models
You’ll need to have:
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in enterprise program or project management, preferably within Buy-Side technology implementations (e.g., Order Management, Compliance, Electronic Trading systems)
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, complex transformation programs for financial institutions, ideally within Japan
  • Deep market knowledge of how various asset classes (i.e., Fixed Income, Equity, Alternatives) are traded in Japan from Front-to-Back
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills in both English and Japanese, with experience engaging senior executives
  • Extensive experience in program governance, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership within large financial institutions
  • Deep understanding of workflows across portfolio management, order management, trading, compliance, and operations for institutional investment managers
  • Strong ability to influence and align diverse stakeholder groups across business and technology functions
  • Experience partnering with Product Managers and senior leadership to shape product strategy based on client needs
  • Ability to manage multiple complex programs concurrently with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically, including international project opportunities across APAC
